At Mankato Area Public Schools, Early Learning sets the stage for parent involvement and children’s success in K-12 education and builds community by connecting parents of infants, toddlers and preschoolers.The Early Learning Department consists of Early Childhood Family Education Classes, MAPS Preschool, Early Childhood Special Education and Early Childhood Screening. In addition to traditional classes, Early Learning also provides individualized consultation options for families as well as other program options through community partnership.
Monday, March 16 and Tuesday, March 17, Mankato Area Public Schools will be closed. This cancellation involves all Community Education and Recreation Department activities and programs including MAPS Preschool, ECFE, Adult Basic Education, ACES and recreation and enrichment classes.
Governor Walz has closed Minnesota schools Wednesday, March 18 through Friday, March 27, to prepare and adapt for distance learning in case a longer closure may be needed because of COVID-19. Please watch for more information regarding distance learning plans for MAPS Preschool and Adult Basic Education, as well as ACES availability during this period. All other programs will be cancelled during this period.
